Gay Savage Cup this week on dm7, we all have pings of 150 to the server. Also we drew in the laaaagy WPDML because our connections let us down on dm7 (slpb map). Lovely Barrysworld (60 ping :D) has announced their divisions, and we are in div3b with POTZW, cH, ->-, MC, HaiL, z3, WR, XTC, and nexus. I’ve heard of POTZW and one or 2 others, but I have never played in a tdm against any of them (we got a default over HaiL in Savage). as long as theres no l33t ninja clan among them, I’m confident that we can win the division.

There was a good FH presence at trinlan, and it was great fun even though we only got to play 2 clan wars. Quozl organised the event (along with Skyclad) but chose to 0wn in CS rather than Q3. Johnor was there for a while, but without his own computer he didn’t get the chance to humiliate PS with his l33t railing. Lorcan had his own comp and we managed to get a team there thanks to Bug who drove me, Nex and Izer up. So I was able to find some empty PC for awhile and that gave us our team of 4 - me, Lorcan, Nex and Bug. We had 2 4v4’s - losing to PS and beating Acid.

WPDML announced their fixtures, and a few days after, SavageUK did the same, but somehow they managed to pick the exact same days to start, and some fixtures clash. Between Savage and WPDML, we have 6 games scheduled for Tuesday 6th March - 5 of them on q3dm7. I’ll have to sort something out because even I wouldn’t be willing to go through all that, it would be way too hectic since some of our members have other games (UT, maybe QW) scheduled for the same night, and I should probably try to do some homework.

Also in the WPDML we were moved down to division 5 for some reason… Acid are in div3, and in the four times we have played them we have always won.. the only explanation I have is that div3, div4 and div5 are all equilavent to BW’s div3a, div3b and div3c. I’m not sure if this is the case, but if it isn’t then its just stupid, because looking at the div3 clans, some of our most recent league fixtures have been wins over Acid and XPD. And the map Ancient Archipelago has been scrapped for another one that looks dodgy and gives me bad fps.

WPDML has organised clans into divisions for the league. There are seven divisions in all, we are in div4. At first it looked like an easy division, but some tweaking has been done and it will be fairly challenging. The clans in our division are:

BlackHail, BoG, Eradication on Arrival, Insane Inside, Knights of the Round, Kudos, Mad Cows, nightbreed, and The Quake Wizzzards.

I’m confident that if our pings are OK we can get promoted. Custom maps for the league are cpm4, mexx1, cpm9 and lloydmdm2. Good stuff I say, custom maps 0wn

Also SavageUK has announced groups for its pre-season cup. We’re in with nEo, PR, Total Terror and Blackhail. Should be fun games, but only the top goes through, so with nEo in the group I doubt we’ll qualify. It will be nice to play PR after so many friendlies against them. Also, I got a column on quake.ie, so I can cut down on the spam here.

Our lagged Wireplay Cup campaign is finally over after losing to WTF in the quarter final. It was very gah for us being at such a disadvantage over the slpb’s on the other teams, especially WTF and Fed (DC had fairly average pings but still beat us best). Sometimes I duel on a Wireplay CPM server, and I get nice ping and a good smooth feel in game. I don’t know why the WPCUP servers were so bad for us throughout the league. Clan-Wars league last season was great, we had lovely ping to the Games Inferno servers and if the server felt bad to us, the opposition felt it as well.

The 2 screenshots above show our Clan-Wars ping compared with our Wireplay ping… GAHNESS!! (and yes, I do have too much time on my hands). Unfortunately, the next Clan-Wars league will be on Wireplay servers. I hope something changes between now and then that will make the WPDML better for us, because the WPDML will be a great league if we’re not all hpb’s.

Also the SavageUK league looks like it will be a good one, with almost every English/Irish/French/Belgian/Dutch clan I have heard of signed up. I’d say most of them joined for the same reason FH did - no more BWDML (probably).

Things are starting to happen again SavageUK tdm league is starting, and we’re signed up. They will be running a cup soon enough to organise divisions. Also, around March, the WPDML will be starting. The good news about this is that its run by the ClanWars crew. That should make it a good leauge, and I like the idea of having 4 custom maps (cpm4 and mexx1 for definite, probably cpm9 and Ancient Archipelago as well). At the moment, we’re still in the Wireplay Cup, since Federation have disbanded, so we are taking their place in the Quarter Finals since we were knocked out by losing to fed. We’ll be playing WTF on 5th Feb on dm14tmp.

We’re back after being inactive as a clan since before Christmas. Quozl has decided to concentrate on CS so he’s inactive for q3 atm, and 0wning in CS for HIV (all the sniping he did on T4 has paid off nicely). We are badly in need of tdm after nearly a month of clanarena and dueling with no 4v4’s. I sorted out the demos a bit, uploaded them and the links should all be OK.

First day of new year today, Clan-Wars have decided not to run the tdm league next season. Thats a pity, because even though it was the league’s first season, it was a very well run and enjoyable league. The website is well coded and updated immediately after the games are played. There is a good system of reviews for the interesting games while all games get reviewed and demos are uploaded for a lot of them. Anyway, i found these l33t pictures of “The Fish Gun”

A fish gun is exactly what q3 needs, along with a Fish Head model/bot. Needless to say it would be the most lethal bot ever made, superior even to nightmare Xaero on tourney6.

The season is officially over for us today, having played our last league game last night. We proved the Quakenation critics wrong by beating XPD in the Wireplay cup, putting us 3rd in our group behind Federation and Demonic Core. We have no league commitments now, so we should be inactive for the next few weeks, with Clan-Wars unlikely to start until February at the earliest. I would like us to go in the BWDML next season - I don’t know if they have their quota of clans signed up, but I don’t think the next season will be starting for awhile anyway. Happy Christmas etc, maybe I should get some of those snowflakes floating down the page like some websites have….?

IQ3CL is finally over, we played our game against se7en last night. Missing our key player, Spoonman, we lost by 20 frags on mexx1. That puts us 4th I think, I’m not sure though because the IQ3CL website hasn’t been updated in ages

Thats also the end of se7en, because they have now fully merged with HAT I think. Its a pity, because they had a really l33t tag. Things are winding down for Christmas now, 2 games left in the ghey Wireplay Cup, and then we’re finished - unless we beat DC (lol?) in which case we have a chance at coming 2nd in our group and qualifying for next round.

Quake.ie is back after being down awhile, so theres loads to update on, but I can’t remember half of it I’d say. Anyway - we entered the Wireplay Cup. With 5 seeded teams and 4 groups, we were lucky to get only one seeded team in our group D. We were blessed with an easy passage through to the next round, with XPD being the only challenge for second place (and we know anything near our best team should be able to beat them). Here was the other clans in our group: Federation, Dark, =/\= (Trek), XPd.

Quakenation predicted us to come third, but that was only because we lost to XPd in clanwars, and we were very unlucky in that game; no Spoon or Quozl, Lorc lagg0red, but it was me and bug getting disconnected at the same time that led to us losing.

Worse luck though, Trek (newbie clan I’d say) are gone from the league. Guess who replaced them? Demonic Core!! How unlucky is that? In our lovely group, the one gimme match where we could play all our hpb’s has changed into the hardest we’ll ever have I’d say. Ah well

We’ve kept busy enough waiting for the Se7en game, having a load of friendlies against Titan, eXcesS, PR and Acid. Speaking of Acid, get the demo here of the secret on ztn that Havok and Sico found, its really good.
